SERVICE OFFERINGS

For boards and executive teams who have an upcoming strategy offsite and want a sharper, more productive strategic conversation.

This is a focused engagement to prepare and facilitate a one to two-day strategy offsite. It helps the team lift out of BAU, review the right strategic questions and leave with clearer priorities, decisions and next steps.

Best when the strategy is broadly known, but the leadership conversation needs more structure, challenge and synthesis.

STRATEGY REVIEW & SHARPENING OFFSITES

Indicative investment: ~$10,000 to $20,000

For boards, CEOs and executive teams who need to properly review the strategy, align the enterprise and identify opportunities for corporate leverage.

This is a structured 6 to 8 week strategy review process. It includes deeper preparation, stakeholder interviews, review of existing strategy and performance materials, corporate leverage diagnostics, scenario development, offsite design and facilitation, and post-offsite translation into strategic objectives and OKRs.

Best when the business needs to reassess direction, align shareholder, board and executive intent, or understand how to operate more cohesively across multiple service lines, business units, sites or functions.

DEEP STRATEGIC REVIEW AND CORPORATE RESET

Indicative investment: ~$50,000 to $70,000

For organisations that need to reset not only the strategy, but the operating model, governance, and execution system required to deliver it.

Typically a 6 to 12 month embedded executive consulting engagement of 2 to 3 days per week. It supports a deeper review and redesign of strategy, structure, executive accountabilities, management operating system, OKRs, scorecards, strategic project governance and corporate leverage opportunities.

Best when the business has outgrown its current operating model and needs to move from a collection of business units, functions or service lines into a more cohesive, scalable and professionally managed enterprise.

STRATEGY-TO-EXECUTION TRANSFORMATION

Indicative investment: ~$200,000+

My Philosophy

Strategy is not a workshop. It is a disciplined process of making choices, aligning the business and building the execution system.

My work is always grounded in a practical view of strategy - strategy is not a document, a vision statement or a collection of initiatives.

Strategy requires clear choices about:

  • The ambition of the business.

  • The customers, markets, segments or problems the business is built to serve.

  • The distinctive position the business will occupy and the strategic activities that create advantage.

  • The health of the capabilities and systems required to deliver, and the trade-offs the business is prepared to make.

  • The operating model required to execute at scale.

For growing businesses, this also means answering a critical corporate question: How does the group create value beyond the sum of its parts?

That question sits at the heart of corporatising. It requires clarity on what should be led at enterprise level, what should sit in business units, what should be standardised, what should be shared, what should be governed centrally and what should remain close to the customer or frontline operation.

WORKSHOPS & TRAINING

I facilitate a variety of workshops and interactive training sessions. I pull together McKinsey consulting best practices and my hands-on experience from building and executing strategy for my own businesses. I focus on core principles and practical outcomes that lead to results, on Monday.

None of my work is “canned”. I draw off relevant best-practice concepts and frameworks to tailor working sessions to suit your purpose and audience.

Topic and scope dependent, workshops can be 4 hours, full day, or multiple days.
